Did you know?
Double glazing was invented in Scotland in the 19th century. The extreme and ongoing cold during their harsh winters. Thin glass windows combined with these icy conditions would overwhelm the basic, central fire in the kitchen that heated the home.
From there, an enterprising Scot developed a 'double glazing' system which was obviously very effective and went on to change how windows were built in these cold climates.
